3rd General Body Meeting
As we approach the final weeks of the semester the NSCS hope you finish the semester on a good note. We will be having our final General Body Meeting of the semester this WEDNESDAY, April 28th at 7:30pm in ASY2203 (map). Members are strongly encouraged to attend. (As always, there will be free pizza and soda.)

2nd General Body Meeting
The NSCS Officers hope you had a great spring break. We will be having second General Body Meeting of the semester this THURSDAY, March 25th at 7:30pm in ARM 0135 (map). This meeting will host our integrity event that was canceled last month due to the snow.
Inside-Service Event: Food Drive
In order to get credit for the food drive service point, members must bring TWO non-perishable food items, toilet paper rolls, or hygiene products.
Outside Service Event: "Turtle Trot" 5k Walk/Run

Alpha Omega Epsilon will be hosting its first annual to benefit GEMS. Girls Excelling in Math and Science is a local project that encourages the participation of girls in science and technology in Prince George's County Middle Schools. Registration is $10 and the first 250 participants to sign up will receive a free event t-shirt! Water and bagels will be provided beginning at 1:00 PM.

Race begins at 2:00 PM! PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE EARLY to pick up your event t-shirt and race number! Prizes will be awarded to our top finishers and all participants will be automatically entered into our raffle for gift baskets!
Any participating members should bring their donation receipt to an officer during office hours for credit.

Officer elections for the 2010-2011 school year are for the following positions:

**If you are interested in one of these positions, please be prepared to speak in front of the members about why you are qualified for that particular position.**
There will be no in-service event for this meeting, however, there will be an event during the week of Feb. 8-12 (Integrity Week), which will be discussed at the meeting on Thursday.

3rd General Body Meeting
Just a reminder about the 3rd and final General Body Meeting tonight, Dec. 3rd, at 7:00pm in 2309 Art Sociology Building (1 Service point for attending)
Inside Service Event: Teddy Bears and Coloring Books & Crayons
We will be doing a drive to collect teddy bears and coloring books & crayons for the National Children's Hospital of Washington DC.

EACH person participating is Required to:
1. Bring Minimum 1 ITEM
2. Must bring items in a plastic bag
(If you are bringing a coloring book PLEASE bring crayons as well!!!)

2 points if you bring both!
Therefore, you can get 3 points in one night which would be your entire inside service for this semester!

Walk-day Schedule
7:00 a.m. Registration opens
8:30 a.m. Pre-Walkathon program begins on the National Mall
9:00 a.m. Walkathon begins
Homeless walk sponsored by the Fannie Mae.
The Help the Homeless Program raises awareness of homelessness and supports organizations working to prevent and end homelessness in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Help the Homeless encourages volunteerism that serves the homeless people and those at risk of becoming homeless.
The Help the Homeless Program works to:1. Raise public awareness to prevent and end homelessness in Washington, D.C.
2. Help local organizations raise funds and build capacity to serve the homeless population.
3. Educate youth about issues of homelessness and encourage volunteerism in their communities

If you have preregistered (registered before Event Day), you will proceed directly to the preregistration check-in area on the National Mall between 12th and 14th Streets, NW.
NOTE: Don't forget to bring the Event Waiver Form that you printed out online. That form will help you move quickly through the registration process.
Location:
The Walkathon starts on the National Mall between 7th and 14th Streets, Washington, D.C. See the Walkathon’s 5K route below.
Transportation:
Take Metro to the Smithsonian Station (Orange/Blue lines). The Metro opens at 6:00 a.m.
We will be meeting at the STAMP to walk over to the Metro at 6am. The metro comes at 6:30 and will get us there when the registration process begins. Below is the metro Itinerary and tells you how to get there by metro.
Itinerary 1:
Depart from the COLLEGE PARK/U OF MD METRO STATION and Board GREEN LINE Rail towards BRANCH AVE. Get off at the L'ENFANT PLAZA METRO STATION. Board the Blue Line Rail towards FRANCONIA METRO. Stop at the SMITHSONIAN METRO STATION. From there we will walk to the Pre-registration area.
